Transforming B-School Learning in a Market Where Only 7% of Graduates are Truly Employable

The Challenge

For Business Standard, the opportunity was clear: B-school students were hungry for real business context, but the way they got it was broken. Credible content, current affairs, case studies, and faculty updates were scattered across sources and channels, and consolidating them into a single platform meant addressing shifting scope, content-heavy delivery, and three device types simultaneously.

New content needs, features, and academic workflows kept surfacing mid-build, so the project’s scope evolved throughout development.

Timelines had to line up with academic cycles so the rollout never disrupted ongoing campus activities.

The cross-platform tech stack had to perform well across Android, iOS, and web while staying cost-efficient.

Large volumes of business content, such as articles, insights, and case studies had to be handled and delivered reliably inside the app.

Editorial teams and academic partners all had to stay coordinated to keep content flowing and relevant.

The BOSC Tech Labs
Approach

Our team focused on understanding the academic flow, communication patterns, and real learning behaviors on campuses. Our approach combined domain research, collaborative planning, and technical strategy to ensure the platform served both students and faculty without disrupting existing academic processes.

Curated news, insights, and case studies feed in from Business Standard

A modular engine structures articles, videos, and new formats

Node.js and MySQL handle high-volume, fast, structured retrieval

AWS EC2 keeps it reliable and scalable through peak cycles

Flutter and React deliver one experience on Android, iOS, and the web

We built BSmart as a single ecosystem with current business content, interactive learning tools, and faculty communication. It was shaped around the rhythm of campus life so students and educators adopt it naturally, without rewiring how they already study and teach.

Built with Flutter for mobile and React for web, BSmart performs consistently across Android, iOS, and browsers, giving students and faculty one experience from any device.

The app plugs into Business Standard’s business and financial news, putting curated articles, insights, case studies, and real-time updates in students’ hands, with a modular engine ready for new content formats.

Dedicated modules let faculty share materials, push announcements, and reach student groups directly, keeping learning conversations in the app instead of scattered across email and messaging apps.

A Node.js and MySQL backend handles heavy content volume, fast loading, and structured retrieval, and scales smoothly as new institutions and student communities join.

Running on AWS EC2 keeps the platform secure, cost-efficient, and highly available, holding up through peak usage, exam seasons, and heavy publishing cycles.

Clean navigation and student-first layouts keep the experience light, encouraging steady engagement without burying anyone in complex features or heavy content.
